Overview
Patliputra University (PPU), Patna, has officially released the UG 3rd Merit List 2026 on 30 July 2026 for admission into BA, BSc, and BCom programmes under the 2026-30 CBCS session. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- BA / BCom: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/EBC candidates).
- BSc: Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology) with the required minimum percentage as per PPU norms.
- Candidates appearing in the supplementary examination can also apply, subject to clearing the exam before the final admission date.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 17 years as of 31 December 2026.
- Maximum Age: No upper age limit for UG admission under PPU CBCS norms.
- Age relaxation is applicable as per government of Bihar rules, if any.
Fees
- First Semester Fee (General): ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 approximately, depending on the college and course.
- SC/ST/EBC Category: Concessional fee structure as per state government directives.
- Late Fee: A late fee of ₹500 may be charged if enrollment is completed after the last date with permission.
Selection Process
- Merit List Preparation: Selection is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2), with no entrance test for UG courses.
- Multiple Merit Rounds: PPU releases merit lists in multiple phases (1st, 2nd, 3rd) to fill vacant seats after each round of enrollment.
- Document Verification & Enrollment: Shortlisted candidates must physically visit their allotted college for document verification and fee payment to confirm admission.
How to Apply
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to ppupadm.samarth.edu.in and click on the "UG Admission 2026" link.
- Login with Credentials: Enter your application ID, registration number, and password/date of birth to access your dashboard.
- Download the Merit List: Navigate to the "Merit List" section and select the 3rd Merit List 2026. Download the PDF and search for your name or application number using Ctrl+F.
- Check Allotted College: Note the college name and course allotted to you as mentioned in the PDF.
- Complete Enrollment: Visit your allotted college between 31 July 2026 and 5 August 2026 with all required documents.
- Carry These Documents: Printout of merit list, 10+2 mark sheet and certificate, migration certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (if applicable), passport-size photographs, and a valid ID proof (Aadhaar).
For Candidates Not in the 3rd Merit List: If your name does not appear in the 3rd merit list, do not panic — wait for the 4th/spot merit list rounds. PPU typically releases subsequent lists if seats remain vacant. You may also consider applying to other affiliated colleges under PPU that may have vacant seats.
